Back in 2016, I had just transferred to Cal State LA for my Mechanical Engineering degree. My friend, James Kim, had just moved to LA at the same time, from Woodland, CA. He already knew a couple of friends in the area and had introduced me to them. They were into cars, specifically RX7’s. I always wanted an RX7 right after high school so getting to see a bunch of my friend’s RX7’s was always intriguing to me. They knew I wanted either an FC or an FD RX7 at some point. So my friend, Chris Savagewassgren, offered me his project FC RX7 that was just a roller shell at the time. Unfortunately, he did not have the time to complete the project so he offered it to me without asking a dime for it. Right then and there, I knew I had to take the offer and take it off his hands. As soon as I took over the build, I already knew that I could never sell it due to that reason. The sentimental value began immediately. I already had the vision built in my head of what this FC RX7 will be and that is a “Full Send Drift Car”. First car ever built from the ground up, literally!
